2012 HADRIAN'S WALL WALK
This autumn we decided to pay our usual visit to the temple of Mithras at Carrawburgh fort on Hadrian's Wall, then visit Chesters fort and bath-house on the North Tyne River. Following that we walked a good 5 miles in armour along the highest, and most rugged parts of the wall to finally reach Housesteads fort. We stopped at the famous Sycamore Gap and at Castle Nick, site of one of the wall's best preserved milecastles. The day was completed with a welcome visit to the famous Twice Brewed Pub. |
